3. The availability of safe drinking water and basic sanitation
amenities are to be
availed to only one-third of the rural population. There are a
number of people in
India who still live on the streets and beg for the whole day to
eat a meal.
4. Underprivileged children are unable to attend school and, and
those have the opportunity drop out after a year or so.
5. People below the poverty line live in unhygienic conditions
and are so prone to many health problems.

ANS: 1. Recognizing that the planning of families would improve
individual health and welfare, the Government of India initiated the comprehensive

Adolescents are grouped in the age group of 10-19 years. They are the most
important resource for the feature.
2. Nutritional requirements of adolescents are higher than those
of normal child over an adult.
